Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe LLP has announced that Maya A. Mitchell has joined the firm as Of Counsel in its Corporate, M&A, and Venture Capital practice. Ms. Mitchell comes to Golenbock after working at three AmLaw 100 firms, most recently Greenberg Traurig.
“Maya Mitchell brings strong experience in all kinds of transactional work,” said Jonathan Flaxer, Co-Managing Partner of Golenbock. “She has successfully handled complex matters in venture capital, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and recapitalizations, among other sub-specialties, and spent time inside investment bank Goldman Sachs. Ms. Mitchell has been recognized by The Legal 500 as a Next Generation Lawyer in M&A. She served as a Fellow for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), and worked with the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance. She also was a member of Black Women Talk Tech, known as the “#1 Conference for Black Women Tech Founders & Technologists.”
Golenbock has added 12 attorneys in the last 13 months, including a six-lawyer team from real estate firm Stempel Bennett Claman & Hochberg, P.C. Many of the new additions arrived from the country’s top-tier law firms.
Ms. Mitchell received her law degree at Columbia University, where she focused on international human rights, politics, and development, and worked as a research assistant for Professors Jane Ginsburg and June Besek. She graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut with a B.A. in Economics.
