The New York Law Journal Covers Firm’s Victory in Domesticating $33 Million Dollar Judgment in New York Despite Lack of Personal Jurisdiction

GEAB&P’s success in persuading the Court that enforcement of a foreign judgment originally issued in the UK was merited even though NY lacked personal jurisdiction over the judgment debtor was covered in The New York Law Journal. The article documented the legal proceedings of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank v. Saad Trading, Contracting & Financial Services, a case seeking to domesticate the UK judgment that arose from a defaulted currency swap agreement. In particular, the article highlighted the argument presented by Litigation partner Michael S. Devorkin and associate Matthew C. Daly supporting the enforcement of the foreign judgment. Daly’s quote stating that he was “pleased” with the outcome closed out the article. The article can be found online here. (requires subscription)
