GEABP Devotes a Day of Service to Food Bank for New York City

Since its founding in the 1980s, Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe has maintained a strong commitment to pro bono activities, provided as legal aid as well as community service.  Recently the firm devoted a day of service to Food Bank for New York City, which oversees a food distribution program providing approximately 58 million free meals per year for New Yorkers in need. Food Bank for New York City recovers good, nutritious food from grocery stores and other outlets within the city that would otherwise go to waste.

After a brief orientation, the attorneys of GEABP pitched in, inspecting and sorting dozens of pallets of food and recovered over 5,000 lbs. – enough for approximately 4,200 meals. The GEABP team was proud to play a role in this vital effort to distribute nutritious food to local people in need.
