Golenbock Further Extends Litigation Practice with Dalma Kovacs

Second former Kirkland Associate Joins Golenbock’s Litigation practice.

Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe LLP has announced that Dalma Kovacs has joined the firm as an associate in its Litigation practice. Ms. Kovacs comes to Golenbock from Kirkland & Ellis, where she represented corporate clients in high-stakes commercial litigation, arbitration, and cross-border disputes.

Prior to joining the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis, Ms. Kovacs worked at the offices of two other major international firms in her native Hungary.  She speaks French in addition to her native Hungarian and English. She brings experience managing litigation involving both international conglomerates and start-ups across a wide variety of industries, encompassing pharma, manufacturing, and telecommunications.

“Dalma Kovacs brings a wealth of litigation experience to Golenbock as we continue to attract talent to our expanding firm,” said Jonathan Flaxer, Co-Managing Partner of Golenbock. “After Kelsey Davis (litigation) and Arianna Caldwell (corporate) arrived in October, we are thrilled to have Dalma join us and add to our litigation and international capabilities.”

Golenbock has added eleven attorneys in the last twelve months including a six-lawyer team from real estate firm Stempel Bennett Claman & Hochberg, P.C. Ms. Kovacs and several others with “BigLaw” backgrounds at the nation’s largest law firms came to Golenbock to work more closely with clients, made possible by the mid-sized firm environment and the close relationships that develop among the firm’s attorneys at all levels.

Ms. Kovacs’s work in Budapest included assisting on high-stakes commercial disputes, tax lawsuits, trade secret litigations, as well as commercial and investor-state arbitration for clients with business in Hungary and across international borders, including the United States.

She received her initial legal education at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, the largest and most prestigious university in Hungary and at Université Paris 2(Pantéon-Assas) in France.

When she moved to the United States in 2020, she attended Fordham University School of Law, graduating in 2021 magna cum laude with a Master of Laws degree with a focus on International Dispute Resolution.

“Dalma’s unique experience, working with clients in two countries and three languages, will benefit our internationally minded clients,” said Co-Managing Partner Jeffrey Berger. “Her first-hand knowledge of the European legal system will be very valuable when litigating disputes that involve entities in the European Union and elsewhere abroad.”

Ms. Kovacs, born and raised in Eger, Hungary, is a runner, a hobby photographer, a vegan cook, and a traveler with an ambition to visit all 63 U.S. national parks.
